Oracle Principal Technical Program Manager in Romania

Job Description

OCI Incident Response is the first line of defense for maintaining the high availability of Oracle’s cloud. We make customer-impacting events shorter, less frequent, and less impactful by providing large-scale incident management. We are front-and-center in driving down event duration by utilizing our operational experience, knowledge of best practices, and ability to develop tools to automate incident management.

We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager to join our OCI team This role is part of a globally distributed team responsible for detecting, triaging, and mitigating OCI service-impacting events as quickly as possible. You will be a part of one of these regional teams and be responsible for minimizing the downtime of OCI services. You will achieve this through delivering excellent major incident management and by operating systems with high scalability, performance, and security that prevent incidents from occurring.

Oracle’s Cloud is state-of-the-art and constantly evolving. When it experiences issues, your team will respond within minutes to ensure customer impact is mitigated. This experience will expose you to the inner workings of OCI’s systems and organizations. You will interact with and influence leaders from across the Oracle business and will drive broad cross-organization programs meant to iteratively improve OCI-wide service availability. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Tech Ops / Reliability improvement programs, from shaping the approach to achieving the desired outcomes through delivery

  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across Reliability Engineering, Product Management, Tech Operations, Support, and other key stakeholders

  • Define and deliver complex programs with competing priorities by influencing roadmaps and priorities of key stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives

  • Provide program and project management expertise to complex business initiatives that are global in nature, understanding inter-dependencies between process, technology, and people needs

  • Seek opportunities to bring about ongoing improvement and simplification in business operating procedures and practices leading to improved efficiency and effectiveness

  • Track and manage priorities and committed actions to drive progress and provide actionable insights.

  • Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ experience in Cloud Operations and / or Engineering.

  • 6-10 years developing and implementing strategy, then executing against, large cross cutting programs

  • 6-10 years of relevant work experience in program and project management.

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field / work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with different levels in the org.

  • Demonstrated technology background that enables you to understand the complexities of cloud architecture
