Admissions Coordinator, International

The Admissions Coordinator serves as a representative of Healthcare Education Support Service to provide admission support and process student applications to ensure application readiness for the different stages of the application process for applicants residing outside the US and Canada. The primary responsibility of the Coordinator is data entry, which requires a high level of speed, accuracy and confidentiality to properly support recruitment initiatives toward reaching the enrollment goals of the University for all programs. The Coordinator will work closely with the International Admissions Officers, who communicate with the assigned prospective students from application through matriculation and are expected to provide customer service to all assigned students, while the Coordinator provides the necessary backend support. In addition, the International Admissions Coordinator is expected to maintain a high level of efficiency and accuracy in the processing of applications to all programs in the University to support the efforts of the Faculty Student Selection Committee. The primary objective is to provide support to the International Admissions Officers to help inform, guide, and present qualified applicants to the Faculty Student Selection Committee, and to ensure a smooth matriculation of accepted students. The International Admissions Coordinator will be a key driver in the admissions process and will report into the Director, International Admissions.

Essential Functions

  • Work with the International Admissions Officer to ensure that inquiries and applicant concerns are serviced in a timely and appropriate way throughout the admission cycle to matriculation.

  • Enters, updates and verifies data into various systems.

  • Manages multiple departmental email inboxes, distributing questions and requests accordingly for immediate response and processing (uploading and indexing) documents into the document imaging system.

  • Clarify questionable or incomplete data on source documents

  • Performs a variety of coding tasks including daily audit tasks as necessary to ensure adherence to data entry and processing standards

  • Work in tight partnership and in support of International Admissions Officers and Regional Recruiters/Directors to provide a seamless concierge experience.

  • Work closely with the International Admissions Officers and Regional Recruiters/Directors during the acceptance stage regarding deposits, housing, flight information, etc., identifying all candidates who seem concerned about eventual enrollment at St. George’s University (SGU).

  • Based on department strategies and goals, provide daily prioritization for International Admissions Officers on service needs of students, communication priority, and identification of applicants to escalate to Senior Leadership.

  • Serve as secondary point of contact, assisting the International Admissions Officers as necessary, to prospective students and applicants, providing consistent, accurate and timely information about the University, ensuring that their experience with SGU is a pleasant and efficient one.

  • Facilitate student enrollment, housing, and registration processes.

  • Assist in admission projects as requested.

  • Perform other duties and miscellaneous administrative projects as needed.

    Qualifications

  • Experience in international educational curriculums preferred but not essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

    Hours and Travel

  • A typical work week is Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm.

  • Flexible hours required to implement initiatives and execute deliverables, especially during peak admission periods.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work evening hours and weekends in support of peak-time initiatives. Flexibility to work hours outside of normal business hours to accommodate students throughout various time zones.

  • Some travel may be required

  • Position is based in Dubai

  • Unsocial and weekend work required at certain peak periods.

  • Ability to work early in the morning and/or late in the evenings as required, due to time zones

  • Ability to travel if needed
