job summary:

Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting teams that will help with key processes. These include preparation of journal entries and reconciliation schedules. The Senior Accountant will also assist the financial reporting team during quarter-end and year-end accounting close processes.

This job is hybrid remote, so candidates must be local to Virginia Beach/Norfolk area.

responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month/quarter-end close process, including preparing, entering, and uploading general ledger journal entries.

  • Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis.

  • Review and maintain financial records and sub-ledgers to ensure compliance with GAAP.

  • Prepare the trial balance tie out files and support workpapers for multiple corporate entities during consolidation.

  • Tie out consolidated Income Statement and Balance Sheet to corporate company trial balances for each reporting period.

  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting schedules to be used as support for SEC filings (10-Q/10-K). Examples include fair value of debt calculation, two class EPS calculation, Statement of Cash Flows supporting schedules, etc.

  • Assist external auditors and tax specialists with support items.

  • Assist with corporate and partnership tax return support.

  • Assist with preparation of the quarterly interest rate derivatives (caps and swaps) reconciliation schedule to record derivative activity.

  • Work on various special projects as needed.

qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • CPA eligibility a plus

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Solid organizational skills with superior attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work alongside a wide array of employees.

Salary range is $80,000 - 100,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package.
