Summary Installs and repairs industrial and commercial refrigerating systems by performing the following duties. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.*

  1. Understands different types of commercial refrigeration systems
  2. Understands electrical and controls for commercial refrigeration systems.
  3. Understands and enforces clean piping practices, ie. Purging nitrogen while brazing, correct flux and solders to be used, etc.
  4. Lifts or hoists and aligns components into position.
  5. Screws, bolts, rivets, welds, and brazes parts to assemble structural and functional components such as motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring harnesses, valves, pumps, compressors, condensors, cores, and pipes.
  6. Pumps specified refrigerant or fluid into system.
  7. Starts system, observes operation, reads gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system.
  8. Dismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components.
  9. Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systems.
  10. Installs wiring to connect components to electric power source.
  11. Maintain truck inventory and proper care and maintenance of the company vehicle.
