Actalent Analytical Chemist in Vernon Hills, Illinois

Job Description:

Analytical Chemist will support quality control testing of cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and medical device products.

Conduct chemical analysis by performing a large variety of analytical tasks for QC and R&D. Mainly running HPLC and GC testing on products.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct chemical analysis on raw materials, finished goods, stability, and R&D samples

  2. Follow all procedures related to data documentation, lab safety, and good laboratory practices

  3. Review test data, calculations, and results for accuracy and completeness

  4. Interpret USP and other compendia methods

  5. Identify malfunctions in laboratory equipment and advise supervisor or perform simple repairs/calibrations on equipment

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline.

3 to 5 years of experience working in a laboratory and within Chemistry lab specifically; specifically with at least 1 year of HPLC experience.

Will consider candidates from other industries including food, cosmetic, oil/gas, etc.
