# WeAre WSP

What you can expect to do here:

  • You’ll be using your expertise to assist in the design of electrical systems for a wide variety of building types and locations throughout BC, Alberta and the Yukon in the institutional and commercial sectors.

  • You will be participating with a design team of electrical engineers and technicians, focused on technical solutions, developing electrical designs, assisting with the preparation of project drawings, calculation and construction administration.

  • You’ll be communicating with members of the electrical design team.

  • You may be working on the design of the following electrical systems:

  • power distribution

  • infrastructure

  • lighting

  • fire alarm

  • data and security systems

  • roadway lighting and traffic signals

  • You’ll be preparing system calculations utilizing industry standard load and lighting analysis software

  • You’ll be preparing project drawings utilizing industry standard CAD and Revit software

  • You’ll be designing systems in compliance with the BC Building Code, the Canadian Electrical Code, and other codes as required.

  • Understanding and practicing safe work procedures

  • Reporting directly to a Project Manager

  • Working in a team environment

  • Taking responsibility for a variety of task assignments in various phases of project development and implementation.

  • Communicating effectively with the design team

  • Reliably and promptly responding and attending to the design team’s needs

  • Following established quality assurance and quality control processes

  • Understanding and adhering to task time budgets and project timelines

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Completed your second year or more at an accredited Canadian university electrical engineering program.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

  • A “can do” attitude, courteous communication, an organized approach to workplace tasks and responsibilities, attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability to participate in a team to deliver design submissions, often with demanding timelines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Proficiency with AutoDesk Revit and AutoCAD is considered an asset.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $18.50 - $31.25
