The Director of Biopharmaceutical Operations is responsible for operational aspects of Cytiva’s rapidly growing Nanomedicine CDMO, including opening and qualifying a new GMP facility and developing and introducing new services.This position is part of the Nanomedicine business in Vancouver, Canada, and will be onsite. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • Led the team in delivering client projects from early discovery and pre-clinical development to scale-up and into GMP suite and batch production.

  • Manage all operational aspects of a pre-clinical and clinical services business, including on-time delivery, productivity, quality control, cost, planning, and daily business processes to meet company objectives.

  • Oversee completion, commissioning, and qualification of a new GMP suite, ensuring all operational aspects are aligned to successfully manufacture batches on time and comply with all regulatory requirements.

  • Work with QARA colleagues to foster and maintain a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement with GMP regulations and standards. Following regulatory expectations, act as the leader of a clinical manufacturing organization.

  • Support the development and drive implementation of strategic plans that will grow the business with existing and potential new customers.

  • Manage operational enhancements by identifying continuous improvement opportunities and adopting emergent relevant methodologies, tools, and applications to ensure fit-for-purpose, simplified, and effective processes.

  • Implement and drive operational mechanisms for resource and production planning, daily management and operational reviews, business continuity, risk assessment, etc.

Who you are:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree with relevant business growth experience.

  • 10+ years of industry drug product manufacturing experience at an operational leadership level.

  • Demonstrated competency working with pre-clinical and clinical development programs and successful transfer into clinical GMP manufacturing (Phase I and II).

  • Expertise in delivering strong operational results, effective communication, and continuous improvement in changing environments.

  • Demonstrated success in hiring talent, building resilient teams, scaling, and achieving operational results.

The base salary range for this role is 150,000 - 200,000 CAD. This is the range that we, in good faith, believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, health insurance, and retirement planning benefits, to eligible employees.
