Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant provides a full range of administrative support to the Home Care & Hospice Director and staff.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Provides assistance to Director, preserving the confidential nature of items of which he/she has knowledge.

  2. Maintains the files, supplies, postage and general office condition in an orderly manner.

  3. Handles all correspondence for the home health organization.

  4. Coordinates meeting schedules and maintains minutes of meetings as directed.

  5. Responsible for the admission packets and the scanning of all documents.

  6. Answers telephone inquiries and channels them appropriately.

  7. As necessary, sends physician's orders for signature. Keeps current log of what is sent and tracks receipt of signed document.

  8. Closes patient’s clinical record and ensures discharge summaries are routed to doctor upon client discharge.

  9. Responsible for flower management for bereavement

  10. Responsible for the ‘tuck in’ list.

  11. Completes batch posting and orders management.

  12. Assists with patient admissions and runs reports out of clinical software as assigned.

  13. Processes MFP’s and completes NDHO statistics.

  14. Assists updating the timekeeping system for staff as needed.

Non-essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Required

Graduation from a one or two year business college

In lieu of education: Minimum of two years’ experience preferably in home health or healthcare

Type 50 wpm

Basic computer skills

Medical terminology

Pay Range

$17.12 - $23.54 /hour
