GENERAL
The ESOL Aide will work with the Coordinator of ESOL Services and/classroom teachers to deliver the districts program for teaching
English to students acquiring the English language in the context of the K-12 academic curriculum.

QUALIFICATIONS
? High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
? Master Teacher Para Educator assessments (in lieu of 60+ college hours/transcript) if assigned to a Title 1 building.
? Knowledge of Spanish language preferred.
? Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
? Ability to efficiently utilize Microsoft Office software; effectively utilize district email.
? Must support district mission, goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or material under the direction of the supervising teacher to support
and reinforce classroom objectives.
? Administer tests, homework, makeup work, etc., to support teachers in the classroom and student learning.
? Communicates with supervising instructional staff and professional support personnel to assist in evaluating process
and/or individual learning plan objectives.

? Assists supervising teacher to maintain instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records to facilitate
instruction; record student information.
? Provide, under the supervision of assigned teacher, instruction to students in a variety of individual and group activities to
reinforce instructional objectives; implement individual learning plans to ensure students success in school.
? Demonstrate dependability, promptness and regular attendance to establish consistent routines, promote teamwork and
guarantee instructional continuity.
? Assist with administering standardized tests (KELPA/state assessments).
? Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information to remain in compliance with legal
requirements; maintain a professional working environment.
? Communicate with parents as requested by teachers/administrators.
? Other duties as assigned.
? Regular attendance is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must
demonstrate required mobility, agility and dexterity to work with students; ability to move, lift, pull or push objects. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision; multiple demands from several people are frequently required.
