Job Description:

Fluor Consultants BV is focused on developing long term relationships with customers in revamping, debottlenecking and expanding the production capacity of their existing facilities in the Process Industry in the Southwest of the Netherlands. The Bergen op Zoom, Rotterdam and Stein offices provide the full project execution services: from conceptual engineering through commissioning and construction support.

As Piping Stress Engineer, you perform manual and computer stress analysis of pipe systems with regard to code limitations, client and government regulations and equipment criteria, selection and specification of piping flexibility and supporting components, and review of vendor drawings and calculations. Vendor selection and preparation of technical procurement documents and bid summaries for special pipe- and support components are also part of your responsibilities.

In this role the Engineer works together with the other Piping Engineers and Designers within a multi-disciplinary team under supervision of the Piping Lead Engineer. Every project you will work with other people of the piping department, but also from other departments such as Mechanical, Civil, Contracting and Project Controls. The Piping Stress Engineer will be in contact with suppliers, contractors and authority bodies.

The successful candidate must be able to:

• Prepare man-hour estimates, and monthly budget reports.

• Prepare technical attachments for the requisitions and purchase orders of piping items, bellows and spring supports.

• Selection of support components

• Perform technical bid evaluations of received bids of suppliers

• Demonstrate and maintain effective Client relationships, as Fluor’s representor.

• Travel, as required, to ensure the successful execution of project and/or department goals

• Perform and check Pipe Stress analysis calculations & design using both computer-aided and manual techniques.

• Demonstrate leadership skills, maintain effective relations with other disciplines and provide guidance/assistance to younger engineers.
