The University of Illinois is accepting applications for an Assistant Director for Budget and Finance in the Office of the Provost. The Assistant Director supports the effective use of campus financial resources by performing functions in support of the fiscal management of university units.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

Work with leadership of select administrative units on budget projections, hiring plans, and other resource planning activities in support of efforts to increase financial literacy.

Assist with annual operating budget management for select administrative units, including assisting with Annual Budget Report development and unit budget allocation processes.

Keep units updated on resources such as BEEP and MyUI Financials.

Works with Vice Provost BRP to coordinate and manage Investment for Growth program process.

Prepare, set-up and flow funding for campus commitments in the Provost\'s Commitment System. Works with the Executive Associate Provost Budget and Resource Planning, and the Assistant Provost for Budget and Financial Analysis to compile supporting documentation.

Assist with complex campus commitments in the Provost\'s Commitment System including funding flow. Assist with the FCIAA annual report development and submission to System.

Manages and facilitates the Provost Office Annual Report development, including compiling all financials for each Vice Provost.

Manages salary cap calculation and Executive Office salary planning, including coordination of the RAMP Administrator salary determination and submission to University System Office.

Participates in the annual unit deficit review of campus units and the related follow-up process.

Provides support to campus committees.

Other Duties

Coordinate the flow of information to a wide range of administrative offices.

Other related duties as appropriate

Serve as college contact and resource to college-level budget officers to improve financial literacy in units across campus.

Position Qualifications

Required-

Bachelor\'s degree business administration, management, or a field related to the position.

Five (5) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience within the University of Illinois System.

Preferred-

Master\'s degree in a relevant field.

Successful candidates will have the following-

Working knowledge of University of Illinois business policies, procedures, and financial systems.

Ability to use business software, personal computer equipment, and electronic systems the University has adopted.

Capacity to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties with only general supervision or direction.

Commitment to customer service.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5010 - Business/Administrative Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Minimum salary for this position is \$85,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. Work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
