JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

WPSU seeks a motivated, enthusiastic video post-production intern for the upcoming summer semester. This is a paid position and requires a commitment of 60 hours across the summer term. The position will focus on the post-production of a feature documentary, Becoming a Wrestler, anticipated to be broadcast on PBS in the fall of 2024. The film follows the recent explosive growth of girls wrestling here in the Keystone state, and utilizes a combination of interviews, competition footage, and behind-the-scenes footage to tell the story of athletes who are preparing for the first-ever official girls wrestling championships in Pennsylvania.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Build string outs of scripted scenes in Adobe Premiere

· Scour footage for appropriate coverage and keys shots

· Edit scenes for promotional and social media usage

· Help us come up with the perfect title!

· Research archival material to help bolster the story

· Perform music research – find appropriate cues for various scenes & sequences

· Add moves & effects to stills

· Implement color correction to finished scenes & sequences

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Current student at Penn State with a minimum GPA of 3.0

· Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere

· Strong organizational & communication skills

· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks & meet deadlines

· Innovative, thinking-outside-the-box researcher

· Strong storyteller with an affinity for editing & post-production
