JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State University Park Curriculum and Instruction Field Experience is seeking a non-tenure line faculty member to serve as CIFE Coordinator. This position consists of 42-week annual contract term with possibility of renewal, beginning July 1, 2024. This individual demonstrates competence in teaching, supervision, fieldwork education, curriculum and course development, accreditation requirements, Penn State College of Education strategic plan initiatives and course management programs. In addition, the coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to coordinate, facilitate and monitor students’ fieldwork experiences in conjunction with the Director. The coordinator may also supervise a cohort of teacher candidates. The coordinator participates in campus, college, university, professional and community service activities and will participate in professional development activities to stay current in the discipline and teaching in the higher education environment.

Applicants must have the minimum of a master’s degree in education or related field. A terminal degree in education or a related field is preferred. Either certification in one or more teaching areas or preferably, a certification as a school administrator is required; Five (5) years of successful teaching or administrative/supervisory experience in basic education and experience in supervising student teachers are strongly preferred as is knowledge of area school districts.
