JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University (PSU) – University Park is looking for a talented Association of College and University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I) Intern to join our Summer 2024 Residence Life team! PSU Residence Life is looking for candidates who are passionate about Residence Life and Student Affairs, while also being willing to learn more about both areas.
As a Penn State Residence Life ACUHO-I Intern, you will be able to take on a Coordinator role and supervise your own staff of Resident Assistants (RAs), with assistance from the rest of the Summer School team.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise a group of 6-12 RAs and oversee 1-3 buildings, housing 250-300 students
Assist with programming initiatives, with a focus on our curriculum approach. Topic areas include diversity and inclusion, bystander intervention, conflict resolution, and community expectations
Work alongside RAs to plan social programs and help build community
Plan monthly fire drills and a fire safety program
Hear and adjudicate conduct cases. Serve on the on-call duty rotation. Conduct crisis response as needed
Help develop training for Summer Session 2 RA staff
Complete other departmental projects and initiatives as needed.
Report directly to a Residence Life Coordinator, with indirect supervision by an Assistant Director of Residence Life.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a graduate program
Demonstrate maturity, flexibility, and knowledge of Residence Life and/or Student Affairs
Ready to learn and develop through the experience. Bring your passions and interests.
