**This opportunity is Nationwide. You could be subject to starting at an office location (IN, VA, LA, or CA)- this could be up to 6 months or longer. Then you will rotate to a project in another location.
Traylor Bros., Inc. (TBI) National Heavy Civil division provides comprehensive, cutting-edge heavy civil/underground construction services through traditional and non-traditional delivery methods. TBI has completed more than 135 complex bridge construction and rehabilitation projects across the nation, including world record cable-stayed structures and segmental bridges. Position Summary:
Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction of structures, such as bridges, ports, dams, and underground systems.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
•Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
•Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
•Plan and design structures, following construction and government standards, using design software and drawing tools.
•Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications.
•Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards.
•Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to managerial personnel.
•Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.
•Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, tools, or manipulate controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and construction equipment; in high, precarious places; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock where employee must utilize the proper personal protective equipment and/or other safeguards for their protection. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
This position may also assist in developing estimates, projections, schedules and bid documentation for future work. Initial assignment could include any of Traylor’s offices located in Long Beach, CA, Evansville, IN, or Alexandria, VA, prior to reassignment to one of our active projects. Required Skills
Education/Experience:
•Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field- Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management
•0-5 years experience (Field/Office Engineer/Engineer Intern)
•Previous heavy civil construction experience preferred
