Custom Truck One Source PURCHASING ASSISTANT in Union Grove, Wisconsin

Summary

Custom Truck One Source has an opening for a Purchasing Assistant whose main responsibilities will be analyzing data to ensure adequate on hand inventory, working with suppliers to source, expedite or pushout deliveries as needed to meet production schedule needs and assisting with day-to-day purchasing tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continually analyze data to ensure adequate on hand inventory and adjust existing orders as necessary to meet changing schedule requirements

  • Analyze data to utilize slow moving inventory

  • Review workorders to ensure part availability of upcoming builds

  • Assist with gathering data for general purchasing initiatives.

  • Assist in attaining quotes.

  • Create purchase orders as requested.

  • Create and process returns as requested.

  • Review any inventory discrepancies and provide guidance if necessary.

  • Follow up on back ordered parts and communicate delivery dates of incoming parts.

  • Follow up with vendors with discrepancies (cost/delivery/invoice).

  • Cross train in all purchasing functions to cover time off and / or support day-to-day functions of the Purchasing Department.

  • Provide assistance to other branches during interbranch requests and other various parts questions.

  • Assist with the year-end physical inventory.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Data analysis experience

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Previous purchasing experience preferred

  • Knowledge of heavy and light duty trucks and equipment preferred

  • Extremely detail oriented and accurate

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Set priorities and adapt to changing work priorities

  • Must be self-sufficient and driven

  • Meet deadlines and schedules

  • High school diploma or the equivalent

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

  • Must have a strong attendance record

  • Proficient on a computer and have the ability to learn new programs quickly. Must be able to use Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must be able to work independently and create innovative solutions to problems with minimal direction from supervisors.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to maintain a professional demeanor with clients and team members is essential

  • Ability to see things in close proximity whether through natural or corrected vision.

  • Talk to others to convey information effectively.

  • Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Monitor/Assess performance of yourself make improvements or take corrective action.

  • Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

  • Identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Working Conditions

  • Attendance – The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance, with availability between 6/7am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday plus any additional hours/days necessary in order to meet business demands

  • Majority of work performed in shop or office setting

  • May be exposed to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting – The ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
