Applied Research Associates, Inc. Staff Field Technician 2 in Tyndall AFB, Florida

Description

The ARA Aircraft Operating Surfaces (AOS) Group is seeking to hire a Staff Field Technician II to assist in AOS research and field testing. The qualified applicant will provide technical and logistical support to engineers and technicians onsite and on the field.

This position will be located at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, FL. Candidates must have a current driver’s license (preferably a Class A CDL), current vehicle registration, and current proof of auto insurance to gain access to the base facilities.

Duties Include:

  • Collect data, operate equipment, and perform manual labor at the Tyndall AFB site or at other field-testing locations.

  • Assist in testing, site preparation, and manual labor associated with airfield pavement repair.

  • Perform support functions that include, but are not limited to, safety monitoring of field activities, handling of chemicals, and recording test data.

  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Light travel may be required to demonstrate system technologies, participate in and collect test data, and interact with clients.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Driver’s License, registration, and proof of auto insurance. A Class A CDL is preferred.

  • High School diploma/GED or advanced training and 4-5 years previous experience

  • Ability to pass a background investigation/security clearance investigation (if applicable).

  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.

  • Team player with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
