As a Marketing Intern for the Caterpillar Building Construction Products (BCP) group you will work collaboratively both within Caterpillar and with Dealer teams in the region. This role will provide tremendous exposure to the Caterpillar business while supporting the business unit with its Sales and Marketing needs. Expect to be directly involved in coordinating and delivering marketing activity related to business objectives and marketing goals.

Day to day responsibilities will support the needs of our growing business. You will be working directly for BCP’s ANZP Marketing Manager and alongside Caterpillar’s Regional BCP and neighbouring teams.

Within the ANZP region, our employees have great exposure to the end to end business functions. This role is ideal for a motivated individual that can work independently that has an accountability mindset and a positive attitude.

Specific projects/tasks

  • Developing an intimate knowledge of Cat Branding guidelines

  • Supporting and expanding the use Social Media

  • Supporting cross-divisional marketing activities and events.

  • Creating and maintaining monthly marketing reports

  • Dealing with Agency partners in the creative process for marketing campaigns

  • Maintaining content for placement of Cat machine sales listings in industry websites

  • Managing the creation and use of video content to drive customer interest in Cat machinery

  • Creating an understanding of customer value drivers and how to translate into creative messaging

  • Supporting business and marketing planning process

  • Competitive product evaluations

  • Generating monthly sales reports

  • Assistance with regional training events & new product releases.

  • Market segmentation / profitability analysis

  • Tracking regional accountabilities and driving regional actions.

Requirements

  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and meet timelines and budgets.

  • Working knowledge of creative processes

  • Ability to travel (Limited but some duties will require travel)

  • University degree with a focus/major in a business related field or engineering

  • Mechanically minded person will be of advantage

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and with diverse teams.

  • Melbourne based employee that will work from 1 Caterpillar Drive, Tullamarine
