\ Pay Range\ Hiring Range: \$15.75 - \$18.51 Per Hour\ Full Range: \$15.75 - \$21.26 Per Hour\ \ Salary offers are based on the candidate\'s equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.\ \ Are you looking for a part-time job working in a fun and active environment? Pima County Parks and Recreation is hiring Recreation Aides in Littletown to assist with our after-school, youth, and active adult recreation programs at various community centers.\ \ This position assists in the daily operation of recreational activities, including sports, crafts, and games; maintains facility cleanliness and order; provides information to the public about programs; handles cash transactions and prepares reports; and supports various recreational events and activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Work assignments may vary depending on the departments need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.

• Assists in overseeing any one of several recreation activities, such as sports, dance, twirling, crafts and table games;
• Assists in operation of leagues, tournaments, meets, and the daily programmed activities;
• Interprets and explains game rules and referees and umpires ball games;
• Keeps recreation facility in a clean and orderly condition;
• Issues receipts;
• Prepares cash reports;
• Gives information to the public regarding recreation facilities and programs;
• Shows movies;
• Maintains projection equipment;
• Tells or reads stories to children;
• Maintains attendance and other records and prepares reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates the minimum knowledge and skills.\ \ (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)\ \ Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the \"Education\" and \"Work Experience\" sections of the application. 1. Experience working with children, youth, teens, and/or adults in a recreation, social services,coaching, or educational setting.
2. Experience with/knowledge of arts and crafts, theater, music, and fine arts.
3. Experience with/knowledge of sports, playgrounds, and group games.

Selection Procedure:\ Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications.
