Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a maintenance mechanic to join our team. This role involves providing maintenance on plant electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems, in addition to general maintenance tasks. The position follows a 12-hour shift schedule from 6:00am - 6:30pm or 6:00pm - 6:30am. Candidates must exhibit excellent forklift skills, follow all work instructions and safety rules, and contribute to the general housekeeping of the plant area.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance on plant electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems.

• Perform general maintenance tasks with limited supervision.

• Exhibit excellent forklift and highboy skills; must be trained on all lifts used in the plant.

• Follow all work instructions and safety rules, including the use of all PPE and safety gear.

• Contribute to the general housekeeping of the entire plant area and the assigned area in the maintenance shop.

• Practice safety in all actions, including start-up, shutdown, and lockout/tag-out procedures.

Essential Skills

• Experience as a maintenance technician with electrical and mechanical skills.

• Ability to drive a forklift; forklift certification preferred.

• Open to various backgrounds, with a preference for chemical or food industry experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Multicraft technician skills are preferred, but all experience levels will be considered.

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and the required hours for this role.

• Must be able to work safely at elevations up to 50 ft. above grade.

Work Environment

This role is based in a chemical manufacturing environment with climate-controlled areas and varying temperatures, including hot conditions in mixing rooms. Employees are required to wear long pants and sleeves at all times. This is a 24/7 manufacturing facility, with 12-hour shifts from 6:00am - 6:30pm or 6:00pm - 6:30am, scheduled every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). The position follows a 2-2-3 schedule, working four 12-hour shifts one week and three 12-hour shifts the next week.
