Employment Status Classification: Full-Time Salary; Exempt

Salary Range: $33,280.00 - $46,000.00 per year

Job Description Summary:

The Real Estate Development Associate (REDA) position supports the smooth and efficient completion of projects and developments by the Real Estate Development Team. This is accomplished by prioritizing, organizing, and tracking tasks assigned to all members of the team, and coordinating with external partners to ensure timely execution of deliverables.

The Real Estate Development Associate position is responsible for coordinating a range of real estate activities related to the acquisition, development, and management of both affordable housing, mixed-income housing, and multi-use properties within the Real Estate development team.

*Essential Functions - Individual:  *

  • Maintain/update rolling agenda for regular team meetings
  • Track and update the progress of ongoing projects in the Zoho project management system
  • Review and approve invoices in the PaperSave Accounts Payable system
  • Maintain hard-copy paper document filing system
  • Update monthly energy usage data in EnergyStar Portfolio Manager for developments with Enterprise Green Communities (EGC) Certification
  • Maintain basic records for development entities and partnerships including requesting Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) and updating entity roster, entity maps, and entity narratives
  • Take and distribute meeting minutes from annual entity meetings, regular team meetings, and other meetings requiring documentation
  • Take and distribute notes from regular project update calls with contractors, architects, and other development team members
  • Receive, review, and process change orders for projects under construction
  • Request documents and certificates from State of Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs department (LARA)
  • Work with utility providers to obtain will-serve letters and coordinate transfers and establishment of services
  • Work with property management partners to obtain insurance quotes/certificates
  • Assist with financing due diligence and closing preparation for new developments
  • Serve as Realcomp Agency Administrator
  • Filing documents with the appropriate city, county, and state departments
  • Maintain property tax log, obtain missing bills and resolve incorrect bills with the respective taxing authorities
  • Other duties as assigned

*Essential Functions - Team:  *

  • Coordinate public events including groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, community outreach, etc. in collaboration with the Fund Development team
  • Assist with preparation, assembly, and submission of funding and gap financing applications

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous housing and/or real estate development experience preferred but not required

Detail oriented to ensure that critical tasks essential to long-term success are met on deadline and accurately

Strong organizational and analytical skills along with proven problem-solving abilities and successful project management track record.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and attention to detail

Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, managing multiple ongoing priorities and organizing time efficiently and effectively while meeting required deadlines

Ability to remain collaborative, adaptable, and results-driven in the face of obstacles, program modifications and adversity
