Summary of Job Description

In support of the CH146 Maintenance and Engineering Support Services, the Aircraft maintenance coordinator and records control expert will be responsible to the BTCL Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor for the delivery of the OWSS contract services under the 424 Sqn embedded maintenance activities at Base Trenton, Ontario. Main tasks and responsibilities will include the following:

The aircraft maintenance coordinator and record control expert will:

  • Coordinate the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the CH146 Griffon helicopters.

  • Exercise daily control of maintenance priorities and servicing functions to flight schedule demands.

  • Liaise with BTCL Maintenance Supervisor to assign maintenance tasks and trouble shoot snags.

  • Liaise with the assigned Squadron Duty Ops officer to identify servicing requirements.

  • Liaise with aircrew regarding snag clarification and recording, providing assistance and guidance.

  • Liaise with Flight Engineers (FEs) regarding aircraft configuration change requirements.

  • Liaise with the BTCL Supply technician regarding parts delivery.

  • Perform Aircraft Release functions IAW the BTCL Military Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO) Maintenance Process Manual (MPM).

  • Perform daily Health & Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) Administrator requirements.

  • Act as the BTCL primary point of contact for technical publications.

  • Be the BTCL primary point of contact for the DND Tool Control system.

  • Devise and maintain/update statistics.

  • Review and verify all aircraft maintenance records under the care, control and custody of the AMO for accuracy.

  • Execute maintenance data transfer in the ADAM system for all scheduled inspections.

  • Administer the AMO aircraft maintenance schedules and review the outstanding inspection and maintenance requirements for each CH146 aircraft inducted into maintenance.

  • Ensure all off aircraft maintenance documentation for individual parts is properly completed.

  • Establish, maintain and update statistics of maintenance record accuracy and audits performed

  • Participate in annual government audits.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Canadian Government Programs, by the BTCL Senior Maintenance Manager (SMM) or by the assigned Squadron’s Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • High School diploma. College degree in aircraft maintenance is preferred.

  • Level A or C certification in the Canadian Forces preferably on the CH146 aircraft. or

  • Valid Licensed AME “M” qualified on Bell 412. or

  • Hold or having held previous ACA authority from another AMO.

  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a position of aircraft technician.

  • Good knowledge of the ADAM and the IETM

  • Good knowledge of the HUMS system is an asset.

  • In depth familiarity and experience with the Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTO) is essential, particularly the “P” series CFTOs.

  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Autonomous and adaptable.

  • Willing to work shifts, (rotation Days and Evenings), overtime, on-call and be deployable.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite- Excel, Word.

Incumbent must obtain and maintain NATO Secret security clearance as issued by the Industrial Security Program of Canada’s Public Services and Procurement Canada and BTCL security officers.
