Fortive Corporation Product Manager, Generation Products in Toronto, Ontario

The primary role of this position is to ensure the financial success of a product line through strategic product decisions and deep market understanding. The output of these efforts is a well-defined product portfolio that delivers long term, sustainable growth, for Qualitrol in the Utility and industrial market space.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of existing products as well as driving new product launches through an agile development process.

  • Communicate product strategy to other functional areas such as engineering, sales, digital marketing, operations and other key stake holders within the organization.

  • Drives sales enablement and fosters orders growth targets by actively driving product lifecycle management, road mapping of existing and future products and driving new product ideation.

  • Fundamentally understands how our new offerings fit into the marketplace, including defining price/performance positioning relative to competition, market share, technology trends and target market segments.

  • Monitors technology trends, regulatory drivers, competitive threats to ensure long term product differentiation.

  • Analyze market growth predictions and proxies relative to the product line to outpace competition.

  • Actively drives pricing objectives with key performance indicators around revenue growth and gross margin expansion.

  • Fosters relationships with customers, sales representatives and regulatory agencies.

  • Passionate about collecting voice of customer to drive new product development that links key product specifications to unmet customer needs and workflow.

  • Responsible for the design and delivery of internal and external technical product training

  • Drives digital marketing activities relative to the product line and guides content creation through other disciplines within the marketing department; conducts technical webinars as necessary.

  • Represents Qualitrol at trade shows, technical conferences, customer seminars, and marketing events as necessary.

  • Fundamental understanding of Fortive Business Systems (FBS) and the associated growth tools used by its operating companies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in an engineering or technical discipline required

  • Knowledge of power generation assets such as motors and generators is strongly preferred

  • Experience with international sales & marketing a plus; ability to travel internationally up to 30% of the time.

  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and have possess strong presentation skills

  • Ability to drive simultaneous tactical projects while prioritizing long term strategic activities

Applicant must be located in the greater Toronto area.

Hybrid role with expectation of part time in Mississauga office (2-3 days a week) as necessary to interface with team members on site.
