What you will be doing

As a Senior Consultant, Cloud Engineering, you will be working with containers and container orchestration platforms across public and private clouds in production and non-production environments. The role involves offering technical recommendations and subject matter expertise, leading the evaluation, selection, and implementation of innovative technologies, ensuring the stability and reliability of both production and non-production environments through established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. Collaborating with senior management you will utilize your understanding of business dynamics to analyze, protect, and mitigate risk to these environments. You will also present and recommend solutions for complex initiatives, considering key dependencies and available resources.

In addition, the role applies innovation and critical thinking skills to identify and recommend improvements to infrastructure solutions. We are looking for someone to be a leader, collaborator, and executor.

How You will Succeed

  • Engineering . You will decide how infrastructure is to be built, recommend infrastructure standards for containers, container orchestration platforms and automation. You will provide technical expertise in the design, build and support RedHat Enterprise OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), and the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You will also provide level 3 support to resolve technology related incidents.

  • Leadership & Communication – Provide technical leadership during the design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of container orchestration services and automation tooling in a multi-platform environment You will collaborate with, lead, and influence internal partners and senior leaders across the enterprise, and will be challenged to learn and adapt to multiple new technologies. You will make informed recommendations to enhance container and container orchestration related solutions Weigh business needs against technology offerings, security concerns and provide recommendations to improve the user experience, which are practical and achievable.

  • You can demonstrate experience in design, implementation, management, and support of technologies and technology-based solutions dealing with containers and container orchestration. Technical knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, ARO, AKS, GKE would be nice to have. Familiarity with Docker, Ansible, Grafana, Istio, GitHub, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Artifactory, Aqua, and Continuous Integration (CI) systems, as well as Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies would be a definite strength. Proficiency with x86 Architecture, VMware, Linux, and Windows along with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google, will help you thrive in this environment. SRE training would also be considered an asset.

  • Drive continuous improvement Work with the Enterprise Architecture team on identifying requirements and design and continuous evolution of Cloud-based solutions.

  • Problem Solving - Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.

  • Cross-functional relationships , deepen existing relationships, and collaborate with others to ensure the team is connected to the right people and opportunities.

  • Written Communications - Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.

  • Oral Communications - Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.
