The Senior Manager-Business Analysis & Strategic Projects is a key player within the BBCR D&A team, supporting strategic initiatives and enhancements to the Encore (Business Banking Data Repository) application & CARDS. In addition, the Sr. Manager also supports the analysis, requirements & development of Regulatory & Management Reports developed by the BBCR D&A Risk Reporting & Analytics and Data Governance teams.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

  • Contribute, participate and support the Business Banking Credit Risk technology roadmap and the current and future strategic initiatives.

  • Write detailed analysis and documentation of Business Requirements for new applications & systems enhancements, to be designed by development groups & acts as a key liaison between business and technology teams, reviewing design & solution documents and supporting testing and implementation.

  • Lead, define, test, and contribute to design of new and enhanced regulatory & management reporting solutions within GRM to ensure compliance & provide improved risk information.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Create an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • The Banking industry; specifically Business Banking. 5+ years

  • Being a strong leader/people manager

  • Technology & data projects

  • Writing business requirements for systems development & proficient in Business Analysis procedures as well as technical design requirements

  • Business architecture & data models.

  • Working understanding of Scotiabank’s operational practices, systems infrastructure and integration requirements

  • Structured Query Language (SQL), and other Microsoft suite of products, in addition to JIRA & Confluence.
