AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. We are reimagining how we help customers to manage risk, transforming our operating model, and reshaping our role responsibilities and career pathways. How you will create an impact

  • Production and underwriting of profitable new and renewal Excess Casualty business.

  • Risk selection and analysis using logical methodical underwriting tools and methods to support decisions.

  • Ensure all accounts are underwritten and structured with full regard to risk and profitability.

  • Ensure all files are well documented and comply with departmental requirements.

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with our broker partners; marketing presentations/relationship management to help develop business flow.

  • Respond to mid-term servicing requirements and account specific mid-term requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues for a One AIG multi-line approach, maximizing each opportunity.

  • Identify cross selling opportunities.

  • Grow targeted business and maintain profitability.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Experience with Excess and Umbrella Coverage including full understanding of all underlying coverages that are scheduled under an Umbrella and Excess policies .

  • Experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriting is a plus.

  • Strong policy wording knowledge.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness for continuous improvement.

  • University degree or college diploma.

  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Experience in reviewing Casualty Loss control and/or Engineering Reports is welcomed

  • Strong decision making skills.

  • A desire to stay up to date with industry, legal & regulatory trends.
