SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS

The Director of Services is the overall leader that has P&L ownership for North American Services Organization responsible for strategic planning of core service business requirements, increasing operational performance, and improving growth and profitability of the entire service business. Additionally, this role is responsible for organization management and control, safety management, quality, and alignment with Inframark strategic priorities. The Director of Services will drive a culture for best-in-class services through continuous improvement, organization development, and safety.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Ensure the safety of Inframark team members.

  • Growth of the services business in conjunction with the annual budget and value creation plan.

  • Development and productization of new service offerings.

  • Development of standards of excellence for all service personnel, by role, and forging a compliance cadence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Inframark Safety team to ensure strict compliance with all safety training, certifications and policies. Ensure that all service organization resources understand the “Stop Work” policy in appropriate conditions.

  • Establish, develop, and implement strategy for management and growth of Services offerings to meet agreed organizational goals.

  • Achievement of sales volume and operating profits; P&L Management, monthly financial reviews, labor utilization, inventory turns, and customer satisfaction.

  • Lead the organization to review and manage staffing requirements, training and changes in headcount.

  • Responsible for Services personnel, product delivery, and Services-related Standards & Best Practices. Including development and optimal utilization of personnel, establishment and oversight of Quality Assurance measures, and implementation of Inframark safety policy.

  • Accountable for intra-company coordination & optimization, and Services Department reporting, productivity, and financial performance.

  • Monitor, measure, and report on department performance, opportunities, achievements, and development plans. Oversee Services Department operations to ensure efficiency, quality, responsiveness, and cost-effective management of resources.

  • Establish and maintain A&I Service Standards & Best Practices for project/service delivery and execution.

  • Establish and champion growth opportunities within the Services Department to provide career paths with meaningful advancement opportunity.

  • Responsible for the quality assurance and periodic auditing of processes to ensure quality services/products are delivered.

  • Participate in production planning meetings to ensure optimal operation and success of the company.

  • Completion of the Services Department annual budget process, monthly performance reporting, and actively managing financial performance throughout the year.

  • Actively contribute to an environment that encourages and rewards growth of our Productized Service offerings and revenue.

  • Develop ways to attract and retain top talent by maintaining a positive and encouraging work environment.

  • Represent the company and attend relevant technical events and conferences. Maintain an active presence for the company within the industry and nurture relationships with others in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A four-year engineering or electrical degree is required.

  • A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in the automation industry and field service functions, with 3 years of experience specifically in the municipal Water & Wastewater industry.

  • A proven track record of leadership and progressive managerial responsibility is required.

  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to build and constructively lead teams are essential.

  • Electrical Contracting and or Low Voltage contracting License is preferred.

  • Experience with and extensive knowledge of Process Instrumentation, PLC’s, relay logic, and process controls is required.

  • Experience with sales and project estimation, knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Code is also required.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, contract documents and P&ID drawings is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods in front of a computer monitor is common. Hearing within normal ranges is necessary for communication with Field Service, other departments, and customers. Adequate vision is needed for using a computer monitor and document review.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job is performed both indoors and outdoors at Inframark A&I office locations and at remote jobsites. Activities include extended periods of sitting and regular work at a computer monitor. This job includes the potential of working irregular hours with demands outside of normal work hours/days.

TRAVEL

Up to 50% of travel may be required for Inframark office visits, team meetings, customer relations, Service oversight and Quality auditing.
