How will you make an impact in this role?

This Manager, Data Science position is a key role to lead company-wide(Japan) data analytic/science projects by developing and implementing strategic plan, ensuring alignment with the company priorities and long term goals, contributing to the business growth. Data Science Manager will join working groups formed by senior management to develop digitization in the market as a key SME in Data Science area for the success of projects in the future.

A successful candidate will cover broad areas of data science, data engineering by accessing to market big data, company's main frames and customer data platforms. The scope of work will cover Consumer card customer profiles, new card acquisitions, servicing areas and merchant data for marketing and others. The candidate need to facilitate communication and collaboration between the Data Science team and other departments ( including Central of Excellence Team(CoE)) to ensure effective execution of data-driven initiatives/projects.

More specifically this Manager, Data Science role, will be responsible for:

  • Responsible and accountable to manage and execute multiple medium to large analytic projects along with rest of the stakeholders in Marketing team and CoE team.

  • Defining detailed analytic scope, methodology, and creating an analytic plan.

  • Proactively seek out opportunities to improve processes and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7- 10 years of experience working in analytics, business intelligence, data science or related equivalent experience.

  • Experience in Digital Analytics, BI , Digital tools.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information into details and accuracy, create executive summaries and deliver business insights.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

  • Experience in people/team management.

  • Both Japanese (business level), English (business level) language skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with analytics, statistics, data visualization, and analytics tools- Proficiency in processing large data set using Hive and related tools.- Advanced experience with Advance Analytics Tools/language (Python, SQL, R etc)- Experience with Statistical packages and Visualization Tools (PowerBI, Tableau etc)- Experience with machine learning techniques : clustering, liner & logistic regression, neural networks etc.

  • Plus would be considered : - Experience in forecasting and predictive models- Unix/Linux proficiency : command line tools. Shell scripting- Experience in reporting automation
