Sanofi Group Finance Business Partner, Specialty Care Japan in Tokyo, Japan

Job Summary

This position is the Finance Business Partner for the Specialty Care Business Unit, reporting to the Head of Finance, Specialty Care Japan. The Finance Business Partner is the key strategic partner to the Head of the franchise, and this role requires deep financial business partnering capabilities as well as strong commercial acumen.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide financial guidance and direction to the responsible business in achieving Sales and BOI targets & proposes corrective actions

Review and evaluate business tactical plans and provide feedback based on provided Return on Investment and alignment to overall Business Unit or Product Strategies, as appropriate; support the annual arbitration of OPEX spend across various tactics and initiatives based on short and long-term ROI

Lead and support the franchises through business reviews, forecast and budget processes including Gross sales, Gross to Net and OPEX

Responsible for ensuring all Corporate, GBU & Japan deliverables for the TA are met in accordance with issued instructions & timelines

Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, analyzing and reporting sales, GTN & OPEX results of the TA to all appropriate levels of management

On a monthly basis, provide insightful reporting and variance commentary for performance updates and present at monthly business reviews, both within Finance and to business partners

Develop monthly sales trend for brands, with close coordination with Commercial Team, Supply Chain and Trade; continuous monitoring of the trend to alert for variances and for monthly IBP forecasts

On a quarterly basis, prepare and report full P&L landing for the responsible franchise business

Actively monitor risks & opportunities on an ongoing basis and report

Understand current & changing market trends & events and quantify potential impact on brand & TA performance

Perform pricing and margin analysis to identify and quantify impact

Drive simplification and digital innovation, and lead by example by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (Plai) to drive actionable insights and foresights that fundamentally add measurable value.

Compliance:

Ensure financial submissions are prepared in compliance with Corporate guidelines, Sanofi accounting guidelines & financial procedures

Ensure proper use of accounting systems and software

Interactions:

Work hand-in-hand with Finance Operations (in KL Hub), in particular the Gross-to-Net and Opex teams

Coordinate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Market Access, Trade, GTMC, Legal etc. to anticipate impacts to the P&L

Active member of the responsible business leadership team to ensure coordination across functions

Experience:

B.S. in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA or equivalent qualification

8+ years of relevant finance experience

Ability to use various types of reporting and forecasting software (TM1, SAP)

Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Japanese

Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to present and provide guidance to senior management

Experience demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to be pro-active and adaptable

Experience working in a multicultural & transversal environment with demanding deadlines

Customer focused and results orientated

Autonomous & pro-active

Proven capacity to work transversally with cross-functional partners

Needs to understand macroeconomic trends and impacts to Business Unit
