Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will interpret mechanical drawings, sketches, and diagrams. They will be responsible for preventive maintenance, servicing all equipment, and visually checking wire ropes, chains, and lifting devices to ensure their quality and safety. The role involves dismantling, repairing, and reassembling equipment, installing or relocating equipment, and testing machines to ensure proper functioning after repairs. The technician will check and repair hand tools, mark or tag faulty equipment, and document all major repairs. Maintaining a safe and clean work area and abiding by all safety rules and regulations is essential.
Responsibilities
Interpret mechanical drawings, sketches, and diagrams.
Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.
Visually check wire ropes, chains, and lifting devices for quality and safety.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment.
Install or relocate equipment.
Test equipment and machines to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
Check and repair all hand tools within capacity.
Mark or tag faulty equipment to avoid injury to other employees.
Care for and use company tools responsibly.
Keep sufficient spare parts on hand for timely equipment repairs.
Document all major repairs on provided forms.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
Abide by all safety rules and regulations.

- Ability to work during the day shift: Mon-Thurs, 6:00am - 4:30pm (occasional shifts on Fridays/Saturdays)

Work Environment
The Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance in a 180,000 sq ft single steel fabrication facility, one of the largest in the Pacific Northwest. The facility is AISC certified to work on high-rise buildings, bridges, marine, and other structural steel projects. The company also holds an AISC Sophisticated Paint, Indoor endorsement QP3 (SPE) with years of experience applying surface treatments and paint. The role requires adherence to a dress code and safety guidelines.
