We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Public Tax Accountant / Associate in The Woodlands, Texas. This role is primarily remote with occasional in-office attendance when necessary to meet with clients. The selected candidate will be instrumental in the financial reporting and income tax compliance sectors, providing crucial face-to-face customer service to local residents.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to residents of The Woodlands.

• Prepare income tax returns and associated forms with accuracy and precision.

• Review financial reports and tax-related statements from clients.

• Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.

• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date customer credit records.

• Conduct income tax audits and ensure compliance.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks and reports.

• File returns and prepare client deliverables in a timely manner.

• Monitor customer accounts and undertake appropriate action where necessary.

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must for managing and organizing financial data.

• Strong customer service skills to engage with clients and provide timely responses to their queries.

• Proven experience in preparing and filing income tax returns is required.

• Ability to create detailed and accurate financial reports.

• Expertise in income tax accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance with the law.

• Experience with income tax audits, including preparation and follow-up.

• Familiarity with income tax compliance regulations and ability to ensure adherence to them.
