Job Description:

We are looking for a talented candidate who applies broad knowledge and extensive experience to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to solve complex and diverse problems. Direct leadership responsibility for work group with clearly defined roles. Reviews and approves work results conducted by the work group. May provide work direction to non-3M workers. Handles non-routine and difficult inquiries such as channel performance analysis. Responsible for coordinating with a broader team the definition, execution and tracking of all elements of the marketing plan. Leads and consults on project-based activities of broad scope on product information operations, digital asset management, website or mobile app operations, channel and e-commerce operations, standard and customized pricing & maintenance, merchandising, analytics, rebates, etc. Coaches work group to improve price, merchandising, and process effectiveness and achieve objectives. Provides input and assists in the development of business, sales, and marketing plans and/or programs, etc.

Supervises professional and support level employees within specific disciplines in Marketing such as product marketing, market research, channel/product marketing, digital, business/market development, branding, pricing, new product marketing, etc.

The person hired for the position of SEA Activation Marketing Leader and will report to Asia Marketing Operation Leader.

Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Applies broad knowledge and extensive experience to deal with variations in work conditions and operations to proactively identify and solve complex and diverse problems. Supervises the development and implementation of improvements and/or solutions to work processes and tools in support of business and strategic plans. Reports to manager/supervisor on key milestones and critical business initiatives. Receives additional guidance from the supervisor as necessary.

  • Supervises work group with clearly defined roles within functional disciplines, such as market research, channel/product marketing, digital, business/market development, branding, pricing, new product marketing, standard pricing and maintenance, deviated pricing, bids and quotes, business agreements, merchandising, price optimization and analytics, CRM processes including sales processes and sales operations analytics, customer insights, etc. May provide work direction to non-3M workers. Determines priorities and timetables, assigns resources/tasks, and provides performance feedback. Accountable for the activities and results of their work group, including leading for change.

  • Handles a wide variety of non-routine and difficult inquiries where the solution is not immediately apparent. Develops solutions for multi-faceted, interrelated, and complicated problems, which require strong analytical skills and significant interpretation of data. Most complex problem solving may require conceptual thinking to assess options, making decisions by applying extensive experience and knowledge of related and non-related precedents, practices and policies to solve significantly different problems.

  • Develops or assist AMOL in the development of the marketing plans for assigned product and/or market/area, including defining programs and tactics and coordinating the execution across cross-functional teams for product portfolio, packaging, promotions, channels, pricing. Suggests strategic and tactical shifts based on marketing metrics and comprehensive understanding of customers/competitors/channels.

  • Uses data to accurately analyze market coverage and track channel performance. Recommend channel-specific programs or promotions, and proposes adjustments to the channel mix, including eChannels, based on changes in metrics and channel trends (e.g., purchase behavior, channel prioritization, etc.). Manages Market Development Funds programs and activities to best deliver business results.

  • Project lead for product information, digital asset, website or mobile app, channel and e-commerce, etc. Identifies digital marketing opportunities, applies expert digital marketing knowledge and experience to deploy digital marketing solutions and initiatives, executes operations with improved processes. Solves complex digital marketing problems through implementing digital marketing initiatives and business process improvements/changes by leading cross-functional teams and change management. Works with business and other corporate functions to manage digital marketing operations. Provides insights through customer analytics.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Marketing, business development preferable knowledgeable in Occupational Safety and Health

  • Expert/master knowledge and experience with the most current theories and practices of one or more related disciplines such as market research, channel/product marketing, digital, business/market development, branding, standard pricing and maintenance, deviated pricing, bids and quotes, business agreements, merchandising, price optimization and analytics, CRM processes including sales processes and sales operations analytics, customer insights, etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of 3M structure, organization, and business. Has cross-functional knowledge of businesses. Possesses solid market know-how (competitors, trends, etc.). Utilizes this business knowledge to educate others.

  • Uses leadership and supervisory skills necessary for managing people such as knowledge of employment law, knowledge of corporate/location policies and procedures, effective communications, performance appraisal procedures, performance management, hiring and interviewing, documentation, interpersonal skills, coaching skills, change management, conflict resolution, delegation, goal setting, motivation, emotional intelligence, strategic planning. Proficient in using corporate/local systems, HR systems, sourcing payment systems, etc.
