Prestage Team Leader - Sow Farm Farrowing Department in Texhoma, Oklahoma
Assist in developing and meeting farm goals and daily tasks by working with other crew members under the direction of the farm manager.
Requirements
Minimum high school education with 6 months production experience or lead tech experience preferred.
Must have excellent breeding skills.
Must have good organizational skills.
Must be a good communicator and team player.
Ability to do hard physical labor.
Ability to follow instructions.
Responsibilities:
Communicate and promote Prestage Farms core values, mission and goals to members of the farrowing team.
Responsible for proper animal condition and health.
Assure that feed, water, vaccination, and general animal husbandry is done properly.
Working with farm manager to assure the farm is operating at maximum capacity by maintaining efficient animal flows and by achieving farrowing targets.
Make sure SOP’s are trained, understood and followed.
Set and meet farm goals and daily tasks by working with and supervising crewmembers.
Assure farm biosecurity is maintained.
Accurate records must be maintained, and all data entered in a timely manner.
Working with the Farm Manager to be responsible for all Farrowing Team personnel issues including but not limited to, hiring, termination, worker safety, performance evaluation, and staffing levels.
Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of facilities.
