The Global Operations and Supply Chain (GOSC) IT team is looking to start an operational excellence team to help drive close to flawless execution of IT systems to help the business reach their goals.
A Day in the Life
Develop metrics around up time, system availability, SLAs, issue closures, system’s performance etc
Working with the business Identify, root cause and fix business critical issues (working with IT partners and owners of issues)
Analyze historical data and identify recurring issues. Root cause and fix
Work with core teams to drive towards world class system’s performance and availability
Act as the bridge between project and support teams
Identify quarter end/year end recurring themes and put processes in place to drive to closure
Put processes in place to drive towards Quarter end/year end preparedness
Look across GOSC for similar processes using different systems/tools (ex: printing and labeling) and try to standardize
Identity critical resources to quickly form SWAT teams to address business critical resources immediately
Establish standards around testing and production moves. Publish industry best practices.
Work with the network team to identify gaps in network performance across all factories and DCsOwn RCAs and 5 Whys for all GOSC IT P0s and P1s
Establish correct level of monitoring – automated or manual for critical tools if not all tools. Include integrations within scope
Ensure a proper reconciliation process for critical applications, especially around integrations
Look at business continuity and good long term disaster recovery plans and how and when these can be periodically tested
Implement guidelines around testing and reconciliation
Create tracker, artefacts, channels and operating mechanism
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management.
Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.
Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.
Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.
Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
7+ years of managerial experience, which includes goal settings and performance management.
Excellent communication skills
