Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Checks Vendor applications for proper documentation using the proper check lists and established criteria.

  • Updates the unit’s vendor tracking database system on an as needed basis.

  • Completes appropriate determination letter in accordance with established procedures. Follows up with vendors regarding incomplete applications and prepares appropriate determination letter in accordance with established procedures within ten (10) working days of the date of initial contact with vendor representative.

  • Provides daily consultation and assistance to field staff in the operation of the vendor registration program and its responsibilities.

  • Receives telephone calls, email and other communication from vendors inquiring about their former, current, or pending registration and will respond in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Reviewing vendor applications for proper documentation and determining appropriate action in accordance with established procedures in alignment with federal and state law;

  • Prepares and analyzes reviewer reports and informs supervisor of any impediments to the unit’s workflow; makes recommendations to management to resolve any issues and problems regarding the unit’s workflow;

  • Informs management of any vendor registration or renewal activities that may need to be modified to assure the achievement of operational goals;

  • Serves as the primary liaison for the Employment Specialist applications;

  • Leading and/or assisting with routine monitoring of non-contracted vendor types;

  • Researching changes to Florida Statutes or licensing requirements of another state agency that may impact vendor registration requirements in alignment with federal and state law;

  • Preparing management reports and data reports, as requested;

  • Preparing and conducting training and presentations, as assigned; and

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis, and of basic management principles and practices; office procedures.

  • Ability to: collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices; to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials; to conduct fact find-solving techniques; to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; to communicate effectively; and, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.

    The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance, sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee’s performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
