MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of administrative experience.

A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

Administrative or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals seven (7) years can substitute for the above requirements.

JOB DUTIES:

This is an administrative position responsible for coordinating the amusement ride inspection process. Analyzes and evaluates requests for inspection from amusement ride companies and takes appropriate action to ensure each is properly processed for scheduling. Investigates and resolves scheduling conflicts and proposes solutions. Maintains a comprehensive record of all requests and/or other correspondence received by facsimile. Formulates the weekly inspection schedule by determining scheduling requirements from a variety of database reports. Coordinates the schedule with the inspector supervisor and distributes it to the field inspectors. Maintains and updates the master inspection schedule reflecting changes and revisions. Provides guidance and direction to amusement ride companies, annual inspectors and insurance companies concerning the implementation of Section 616.242, Florida Statutes.

Reconciles inspector assignments contained in the weekly schedule with submission of their inspection documents to ensure an accurate and timely submission.

Ensures amusement ride record files are accurately maintained and updated.

Reviews, analyzes and evaluates database performance and makes recommendations for revisions and improvements.

Reviews, analyzes and evaluates the submission of required documentation of the Qualified Inspector Program and updates the database accordingly.

Assists in editing, re-writing and updating the Bureau’s Policy and Procedure Manual; distributes and ensures revisions are posted by inspectors. Delivers updates and changes to policy and procedures during inspector training sessions/seminars.

Acts as the Safety Officer for the bureau. Conducts location safety inspections and serves on the Division Safety Committee.

Performs other duties as assigned by Bureau Chief.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Administrative principles and practices, office procedures, methods of data collection, effective communication.

  • Ability to collect and evaluate and analyze data relating to the amusement ride inspection process.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policy and procedures.

  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques, work independently, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with others.
