Microsoft Corporation Business Analyst Manager, Asia (SMC) in Sydney, Australia

Microsoft Asia is one of the 3 regions of Microsoft Commercial Business and covers 6 Areas: ANZ, India, Greater China Region, Japan, ASEAN, and Korea. All 6 areas of Asia have been a key enabler of the market IT growth through solid partnership with Governments, Enterprise, Small and Medium Corporates, as well as IT partners and consumer partners of the region. Microsoft Finance is a truly global finance team, and you will be part of the WW Finance community for Small and Medium Corporate [SMC] and Global Partner Solutions [GPS].

  • This role connects the Region, Area and our Corporate stakeholders. It shows how well Asia SMC is doing in terms of its budget, forecast and market performance.

  • The Business Analysis Manager [BAM] plays a vital role in coordinating the Rhythm of the Business [ROB] across the Region, ensuring the whole team understands the expectations and achieves alignment on budget, forecast and executive summaries on performance.

  • This role is the main collaborator for the Asia SMC CFO, Asia Business Leaders, such as Sales Excellence Lead, Chief Operating Officer and Chief of Staff.

This role is part of the Asia SMC and GPS Regional Finance Team. The team is a diverse and inclusive team, with team members based across Asia. The role is also a key part of the broader Asia GPS & SMC Finance Community, who are all operating in similar roles across the full Asia Region and will be key partners in delivering the work needed.

Responsibilities

Finance Excellence

  • Oversee the region’s business cycles, including forecasting, quarterly segment reviews, and budget coordination.

  • Drive performance analysis, budgeting, and projections for Asia SMC as a whole, ensuring clear insights and outcomes.

  • Analyse and challenge the premises and assumptions from area teams and solution areas to achieve the most accurate forecast and budget.

  • Collaborate closely with the SMC Core Team to ensure Asia SMC’s perspective is understood and its requirements are met.

  • Lead Asia SMC’s response to all SMC Core requirements, such as SBR, VSU, and QBR Partnership

  • Collaborate with all Asia SMC Finance roles to ensure clarity and alignment on core processes and outcomes.

  • Utilize Microsoft tools to evaluate and discuss business forecasts, including Modern BI, predictive analytics, and MSX.

  • Leverage internal and external metrics and trends to provide clear insights and communicate effectively with Area leadership.

  • Deliver high-quality narratives of the Area’s performance for executive meetings. Protection.

  • Review and monitor the accuracy of financial documents and business processes to ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Guide business partners on sharing financial information, using approved instruments and processes, and adhering to corporate policies.

  • Collaborate with Compliance groups to keep the team updated on company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have a combination of 10+ years’ experience in Finance with strong demonstration of (people) leadership, business partnering capabilities and analytical strength.

The successful candidate ideally has experience in Business Partnering roles in a subsidiary/Area, proven track record of achieving exceptional results through influence where no direct line authority exists.

This position involves a significant amount of exposure to executive and senior management and requires the ability to communicate ideas and analysis effectively, thereby influencing business decisions, so executive maturity, business acumen and presentation and communication skills need to be your strengths.
