Boehringer Ingelheim Key Account Manager NSW & QLD - Ruminant in Sydney, AU, Australia

The Position

An exciting job opportunity is now open as a Key Account Manager in our Animal Health business. This position is a permanent, full-time role based in NSW or QLD and will report directly to the Business Segment Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for annual sales achievement of the BIAH Ruminant portfolio (Parasiticides, Minerals and Therapeutic products), and will lead the relationship and communications and responsibility for objectives achievement with Strategic Key Customer accounts within NSW & QLD.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate high level of BIAH product knowledge and excellent interpersonal communications skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate the ability to coordinate the activities of multiple level Boehringer Ingelheim functional areas at the customer level to help drive the attainment of account objectives.

  • Understand and analyze industry and customer data to develop and offer high value, mutually profitable solutions to our customers.

  • Develop, maintain, and regularly update the key account database including annual portfolio planning.

  • Lead account planning reviews with the customer and with internal colleagues to meet or exceed mutual expectations.

  • Manages Key Account customer programs and expense budgets to maintain appropriate profitability.

  • Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction ratings as measured via “time to time” survey assessments.

  • Meet and exceed customer objectives as outlined in the account plan, also the assigned sales targets and portfolio growth expectations.

  • Meet or exceed product knowledge standards and administrative duties as measured by direct observation and systems reporting.

  • Meets operating expense budgets defined by the company.

  • Promote the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health product range using technical information, promotional material, and marketing campaigns to customers in an honest and ethical manner.

  • Record customer interactions and keep customer database up to date using the current CRM system.

  • Attend and participate in company sales conferences, cycle meetings and training sessions.

  • Support, share, communicate and work with team members to improve individual and team sales effectiveness.

Requirements

  • A Business or Science Degree – Commerce, Veterinary, Animal Science

  • A minimum 3 years of relevant sales experience in the animal health industry

  • A thorough understanding of Professional Selling Skills processes and a strong grasp of technical knowledge relating to our products and that of competing brands

  • A successful track record of key account management

  • Ability to use industry knowledge in planning and decision-making

  • Intermediate skills or higher in administration including the key Microsoft suite of products: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the internal CRM systems
