Overview:

Job Title: Technical Watch Officer

Location: Stuttgart, Germany

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a Technical Watch Officer to join our team in Stuttgart, Germany. The ideal candidate will provide oversight to all enterprise services within the AOR (Area of Operation) and functions as the single point of contact for all technical and non-technical related issues pertaining to the network.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work Shedule: Shift Work

  • Directs and supervises troubleshooting of all network outages and provides risk and crisis management to mitigate effects to ongoing daily operations.

  • Utilizes network monitoring tools to pro-actively identify and troubleshoot issues before they result in network outages

  • Perform hardware, server, network and software troubleshooting.

  • Provide customer service and remote support

  • Handle Tier 1-3 escalations through ServiceNow, Phone, or Email

  • Follow up on outstanding requests and ensure timely resolution

  • Track outages from initial report through resolution

  • Troubleshoot networking issues to include port-security, encryption devices, link outages, link degradations, DNS issues, routers and switches

  • Troubleshoot server issues to include active directory, DHCP, printer servers, and user accounts.

  • Monitor networks to ensure availability and security

  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.

  • Manages the daily requirements of the Command with day-to-day oversight, planning, monitoring, reporting, and direction of all communication assets within the AOR.

  • Assesses communication requirements and provides solutions to subscribers to ensure reliable command, control, communications, and computers (C4) support is provided to US and Coalition forces throughout the AOR.

  • Oversees the management of ASIs (Authorized Service Interruptions) and ensures the correct operational impact is determined in order to brief local Commanders of potential outages in their AOR.

  • Develops processes and procedures to standardize network management operations.

  • Communicates with higher network Commands (DISA, NETCOM, CYBERCOM, ect..) for assistance with higher level network outages.

  • Utilizes a variety of network management tools to monitor and acquire network performance metrics for all circuits. The network management tools are, but are not limited to; SolarWinds Orion, SCOM, and ServiceNow.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active, in-scope US Government issuedSecretClearance w/ability to acquire TS/SCI

  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required .

  • Proven ability for planning, assessing, reporting, and managing potential network risks and operational status, as well as, escalation and problem resolution status information

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate information flow from all stakeholders to senior military personnel (O-6 and above) for incident/crisis response and/or mission support.

  • Position requires an IAT level II and (CCNA certification or any Microsoft Computing Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, MCTS, MCSD)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum six (6) years of overall experience in Information Technology

  • Experience in engineering network layout installations, and in system support with knowledge of installing, operating, and performing diagnostic testing and repair of fixed and deployable tactical voice and data communication systems

  • Experience providing network and IT services such as Network Management (NM), Information Assurance (IA), and LAN/WAN engineering

  • In-depth knowledge of telecommunications facilities, architecture, and circuit connectivity.

  • Minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience as an on-site supervisor for 24x7 daily security operations within a secure Tactical Operations Center (TOC) or Network Operations Center (NOC)

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree plus three (3) years of recent specialized experience, or: an Associate’s Degree plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience, or; a Major Certification plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience, or; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
