Job Title - Specialty Software Engineer Lead

Job Summary –

Responsible for the provisioning of any IT development, analysis, Information management (DBA), or QA requiring specialized knowledge of a niche technology.

Job Responsibilities –

• Modify existing databases and database management systems.

• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.

• Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.

• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage ones time.

• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.

• Knowledge of XML, Java, JSP and other relevant software.

• Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.

Education/Experience:

• High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/software engineering/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.

• 8+ years experience required.

Initiatives/Projects:

Supports the Project Concerts and others, ongoing app enhancements, new deployments, new developments for new functions, new capabilities and enhancements to the existing code repositories.

Industry background:

Strong IT background, open to diverse industry experience.

Team Dynamic:

Working directly with Architect and PO, Agile crew of 15.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Attend daily standups, spring planning, and sprint retrospective sessions and any ad hoc meetings.

Coding development and unit testing ,familiarity of the Hadoop technology stack and utilities associated

Python used for all data engineering tasks like ingest, ETL and aggregation

Building consumer and producers apps to consume real time events

To manage Kafka based dependent java libraries

Must Have Technical Skills:

  1. Hadoop Big Data Engineer with PySpark, HQL, Python skills.

  2. Hadoop Platform utilities - Hive,Oozie, Yarn, Impala, HDFS, Hbase- Hue, Beeline

  3. Python and Shell Programming (PySpark) - Python 2.7, 3.0

  4. DSP (Data Streaming Platform) - Kafka Confluent Model Implementation - PySpark

    Data science based libraries (SciPy, Pandas etc) - Jupyterhub, Jupyter Notebooks, Anaconda

    Deep Learning - Keras , tensorflow, Pytorch - Jupyterhub, Jupyter Notebooks, Anaconda

    Time series Modelling - Jupyterhub, Jupyter Notebooks, Anaconda

    Model Extraction - Data Robot
