Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in marine biology or a related field in hand by September 2021.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ELISA and measurement of DNA methylation. Experience with scuba at scientific diving level to collect specimens and data. Experience with data analysis. Experience mentoring at the graduate level (i.e. basic laboratory skills, responsible conduct of research, etc.). Experience with using social media for science communication. Advanced Under Water Diver certification (PADI) or equivalent.
Brief Description of Duties:
This project involves carrying out experimental laboratory, field, and mesocosm studies in coral reproduction. Incumbent will work in the laboratory and in the field, SCUBA diving to collect specimens and data. This position requires a candidate adept at communicating science through social media, and will support efforts at international collaboration in the Red Sea region. Responsibilities will include the following:
Utilize statistical skills to collect and analyze data and periodical/literature search.
Participate/assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations, and grant writing.
Scientific communication on social media (video blog, Twitter, etc.) about the experimental work, and generally about coral reproduction and conservation
Other duties as assigned as appropriate to rank, title and department mission, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings in the United States, Israel, and Jordan.

This position requires the candidate to perform research in Eilat, Israel a minimum of 5 months per year. Candidate review will begin January 31, 2021 and the position will remain open until filled.
