Paul Reed Smith Guitars Facility Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift in Stevensville, Maryland

Description of the Facility Maintenance Technician-1st Shift: The successful candidate can perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and building systems within our plant. Candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background and able to diagnose and repair electrical circuits and controls. Position is Mon.-Fri. from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities’ of the Facility Maintenance Technician 1st Shift (include and other duties may be assigned)

  • Areas of specialization may include one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, hydraulics, refrigeration and machine tool rebuilding

  • Running conduit, 120, 240 and 480 - 3 phase electricity experience

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of power equipment such as saws, drill guns, etc

  • Assist in daily operation of plant including HVAC, plumbing, central cooling, compressed air, dust collectors, and other machinery

  • Perform carpentry work and able to construct work benches, tables, shelving units, racks and minor aspects of carpentry

  • Execute preventive and reactive maintenance and update logs as necessary

  • Able to research, source and install new equipment or machines needed for production or maintenance support

  • Interface with Production Manufacturing to ensure internal customer needs are met

  • General maintenance repairs of office and building

  • Monitor machines to ensure highest level of safety compliance. Able to demonstrate safety procedures such as Lockout Tagout, Confined Space, Ariel Lift Training, etc

  • Able to interpret schematics, manuals, diagrams and equipment specifications

  • Cross training and serving as backup for other maintenance technicians

Requirements & Work Environment for the Facility Maintenance Technician 1st Shift:

  • Mechanical Aptitude

  • Strong customer service ability, able to communicate with co-workers and management

  • Dependable and able to manage time and projects efficiently

  • Able to manage multiple projects at once while prioritizing working assignments

  • Strong safety awareness to ensure a safe and healthy workplace

  • Must have a valid clean drivers license

  • Able to work overtime on occasion

  • Able to life/move up to 100 lbs.

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and vibration

  • Close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus

Education and/or Experience for the Facility Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Minimum (3) years experience in maintenance, repair & preventative maintenance.

  • Minimum (4) years of electrical experience. (Journeyman preferred but not required)

  • Experience with carpentry

  • Facility maintenance or manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred

  • Troubleshooting experience

  • Basic computer skills for word processing, email and spreadsheets
