Department Introduction:

LBRE Facilities Operations, previously known as Buildings and Grounds Maintenance (BGM), is the operations and maintenance side of the Land, Buildings & Real Estate organization. We function as stewards of campus physical assets and a provider of support services.

LBRE Facilities Operations is responsible for maintaining the academic buildings and grounds of the Stanford Campus. We are dedicated to being the Caretakers of a Legacy. In everything we do, we strive to deliver high quality, reliable, and innovative services that are responsive to the changing needs of the Stanford University community.

Job Purpose:

LBRE’s Facilities Operations department is looking for a Lobby Ambassador to greet and direct visitors to their destination, answer telephone calls, perform general clerical and customer service work in support of the department.

Core Duties*:

  • Greet, sign in and route visitors to appropriate individuals.

  • Answer phones and serve as a resource on unit procedures and general inquiries.

  • Maintain employee and department directories.

  • Ensure adherence to security by following procedures; monitor logbook; issue visitor badges.

  • Maintain safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Schedule conference rooms and/or permits as appropriate.

  • Sort and distribute mail. Receive and sign for delivery of packages.

  • Maintain the general filing system.

  • Monitor the use of supplies and equipment.

  • May be responsible for petty cash.

  • May serve as the point of contact for general maintenance, health and safety, and other facility concerns within the unit(s).

  • *Other duties may also be assigned

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong telephone skills.

  • Demonstrated professionalism, maturity and tact.

  • Basic computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • None

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently sitting.

  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

The expected pay range for this position is $23.08 to $25.48 per hour.
