Job Summary

Under general supervision, uses knowledge and skills, obtained through education and/or experience, training and/or certification, to conduct corporate insurance activities of limited scope and complexity and perform insurance data analysis and financial reporting within a functional area. Serves as a strategic business partner to business units on insurance topics and risk transfer strategies. Resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems. Routine contact with internal and external customers is required to identify, research, and resolve problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads and supports corporate insurance activities as a strategic business partner for assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Performs data collection and financial analysis in compliance with program requirements to assist in identifying, analyzing, and recommending changes to facilitate accurate and relevant reporting.

  • Collaborates in conducting renewals to solicit data from business units, identify deficiencies, recommend effective solutions, and proactively address any financial inconsistencies or data outliers from previous years.

  • Responsible for initiating and tracking insurance claims throughout their lifetime, ensuring accurate documentation, timely processing, and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.

  • Performs ongoing analysis and reporting of claims trends through monitoring and execution of insurance claim reviews.

  • Identifies, reviews, assesses, and documents insurance coverage issues within assigned business or areas.

  • Prepares comprehensive reports and recommendations on the effectiveness of assigned business processes and insurance activities.

  • Builds and maintains key relationships with stakeholders demonstrating a culture of engagement and assistance.

  • Develops and maintains an in-depth understanding of business areas, its products, and supporting functions.

  • Stays up to date with evolving market events and regulatory changes impacting the business.

  • Performs continuous monitoring of various insurance topics and/or business groups.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of

  • Advanced concepts, practices and procedures of data and financial analytics and reporting.

  • Fundamental concepts of financial markets and products.

  • Fundamental subject matter expertise associated with the area of responsibility.

Skill in

  • Proficient in data and financial analytics and reporting concepts and practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management and influence change.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, particularly with regard to assessing the probability and impact of claims and exposures in existing insurance coverage.

  • Proven ability to be able to multi-task, complete projects on time and on budget, and be able to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Working understanding of insurance management and regulatory controls.

  • Works well both individually and in teams, shares information, supports colleagues, and encourages participation.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically.

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure.

  • Evaluating coverage within insurance programs.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a related field.

  • OR

  • Any equivalent combination of education, training or experience approved by Human Resources.
