Visiting Instructor (Accounting) - Full Time Business and Economics Description Position Details: Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a full-time position of Visiting Instructor (or Assistant Professor with appropriate qualifications) in the Department of Business and Economics to begin January 6, 2025. The department anticipates a continued vacancy, and the successful candidate may be considered for continuation into additional years, contingent upon favorable review and the continuing needs of the College. We are one of the largest departments on campus, typically graduating 75-100 students each year, including approximately 25 accounting majors. Our graduates consistently secure positions with the top 20 accounting firms. Things you will do: Teach 3 or 4 course sections during the 2025 Spring semester. Specific course assignments are somewhat flexible and depend on the department's needs, but they would include Auditing or Federal Taxation and possibly Financial Accounting and/or Managerial Accounting. Two of the sections may be the same course. Student advising. Starting in the 2025-26 school year, academic and professional advising of accounting majors will become part of the job duties. Develop professional skills by participating in faculty meetings and committees, attending faculty development days, and taking advantage of the College's membership to the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD).
