This position is located at our St. Paul/Fort Snelling location; tele work may be offered but in a limited capacity. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.
The purpose of this position is to provide supervision and leadership for the operations of Purchasing and Inventory Centers for Central Shop, Electrical Services Section (ESS), the State Sign Shop and the Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC). The Purchasing/Inventory Centers provide purchasing and inventory services for Central Shop, Electrical Services, and the State Sign Shop in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and policies. The Centers also provide purchasing services for construction supplies to cities, counties and districts, and signage design and purchasing for districts and other state agencies. Serve as the Central Shop and Electrical Service Hazardous Waste Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of professional supervisory experience of staff in inventory control, accounting, or purchasing.
OR Two (2) years of professional experience as a professional buyer or in accounts receivable.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration will substitute for up to one year of professional experience.
The years of experience must include:
Experience with commodities and services sufficient to provide guidance and support to purchasing staff and to work with vendors to write and finalize contracts and purchase agreements.
This position also requires (ALP) Authority for Local Purchasing certification for up to $10,000 within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with state and agency hazardous waste policies, practices and procedures to serve as hazardous waste coordinator for Central Services Facilities.
(ALP) Authority for Local Purchasing certification for up to $50,000.
