Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide janitorial service to Quality and Life Cycle Management in laboratory and research areas. Clean rest rooms/locker rooms, break rooms/lunch rooms including: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, disposal of trash, and general housekeeping.

Collect dirty glassware from lab and research areas. Soak, wash and dry pipettes. Run dishwasher for laboratory glassware as needed. Inspect all glassware for cracks, chips, and breaks and discard if defective. Return all clean glassware to proper storage and maintain storage area in clean and organized manner.

Inspect safety showers and eyewash stations in area weekly.

Maintain inventory of supplies.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

One year of janitorial experience in an industrial environment

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Must be able to read and write the English language. Must be able to perform basic activities on the computer. Must be able to work with others in a union team environment.

Minimum of three years’ experience as a chemical and/or pharmaceutical operator or directly related experience/education highly preferred.

Skills/Competencies:

Must be able to be take simple directions and be self motivated

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be physically fit to carry, push or pull 50lbs. Must able to work in industrial/chemical environment.

Position pays $28.98 per hour.
