BayCare is currently in search of our newest Pediatric Occupational Therapist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer outpatient and acute care service to our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the pediatric population, infant through teen (majority infant though school aged) to help develop the skills needed for daily living and participation in activities.

  • Assessment : Conducting evaluations to assess a child's strengths and challenges in areas such as fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, visual perceptual skills, self-care skills, and play skills.

  • Treatment Planning : Developing individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and collaborating with the child, their family, and other healthcare professionals to set functional goals and interventions.

  • Intervention : Providing therapeutic interventions to improve a child's ability to participate in activities at home, school, and in the community. This may involve activities to improve hand-eye coordination, sensory processing, motor planning, self-regulation, social skills, and independence in self-care tasks.

  • Family Education and Support : Educating and supporting families to help them understand their child's needs and how to facilitate skill development at home. This may include teaching caregiver's strategies for adapting activities and environments to promote optimal functioning.

  • Collaboration : Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team, such as physicians, speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and psychologists, to ensure coordinated care and a holistic approach to addressing the child's needs.

  • Documentation : Maintaining thorough documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, progress reports, and communication with other professionals involved in the child's care.

  • Continuing Education : Staying updated on the latest research, techniques, and best practices in pediatric occupational therapy through continuing education and professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • OT (Occupational Therapy)

  • Or OT (Occupational Therapy) Eligible to obtain

  • Required Bachelor's Occupational Therapy

  • Preferred 1 year Occupational Therapy
