Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life-support for its fleet of ten C-27J Spartan Airlifter aircraft. The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force's existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies in Australia and our region.

Your Role:

In your role as a member of the C-27J Engineering team, you will handle a diverse range of duties including providing structural design, analysis, and technical support in line with engineering management plans. A significant part of your responsibility will be the efficient management of repair and modification designs to ensure aircraft availability. Your role extends to mentoring the team, contributing to standardisation in processes and analysis methods, and ensuring compliance with DASR Part 21J and CAMO Services requirements.

You'll also manage engineering workflows, assess technical risks, and maintain the C-27J configuration. Your expertise will be pivotal in conducting detailed stress analysis, certification compliance checks, and guiding the engineering team in maintaining airworthiness and mission capability.

About You:

As a Principal Engineer, you are expected to bring a deep-seated passion for the Aviation and Aerospace industry. Your background likely includes significant experience in Defence or Civil Aviation sectors, demonstrating a strong track record in leadership and technical guidance. Key to this role is your ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and to provide mentorship within the engineering team. Essential qualifications include a relevant technical discipline degree, with the capacity to obtain or maintain a Defence security clearance. Your commitment to personal and professional growth, combined with a quality-focused and commercially savvy approach, will be crucial in driving success in this role.
