Sierra Nevada Corporation Sr. Expense Clerk in Sparks, Nevada

The SNC Travel & Expense team is looking for a highly motivated and forward thinking individual to join a highly agile, innovative team as the company continues to evolve. In this role you will work with a wide variety of program teams, departments, and other SNC employees that are seeking reimbursement for their expenses. You will use your knowledge of internal policies and procedures to evaluate and process employee expenses that ultimately are billed to SNC's customers.

As SNC's corporate team, we provide the company and its business areas with strategic direction and business support spanning executive management, finance and accounting, operations, human resources, legal, IT, information security, facilities, marketing, and communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assessing compliance of employee travel in accordance with travel policies, procedures and other internal or external regulatory requirements.

  • Corporate card management (driving adoption, card issuance and closure, account reconciliation, reducing delinquency)

  • Expense report audits (ensuring compliance to policy, Government regulations, reasonableness, and developing a risk-based audit approach).

  • Acting as a point of contact for training and education of users

  • Answering inquiries, hosting end user training, and updating our training content on how to use Concur and the expense reimbursement process

  • Expense reporting and analysis

  • Assessing, developing and implementing process improvement initiatives for the expense reimbursement and corporate card processes

  • Maintaining proper internal / FAR controls and operating procedures as it pertains to government contracts

  • Escalates issues and recommend resolution plans to supervisor in a timely manner (where required)

Must Haves:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and typically 4 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Proficiency with Automated Accounting Systems

  • Analytical abilities, time management, organizational and communication skills are essential

  • Strong understanding of government accounting requirements and regulations

  • Strong analytical skills, be able to assess the facts with professional skepticism.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives concurrently

Preferred:

  • Government AR/AP policy (FAR / JTR) compliance review experience preferred.

  • Thinks out of the box, challenges the status quo and with excellent teamwork.

  • Experience with SAP Concur (Request, Travel & Expense) preferred.
